Belarus Presented a New Translation of The New Testament into Belarusian

In Minsk (the capital of Belarus) was held a presentation of the new translation of the New Testament and the Book of Proverbs in Belarusian, held by the pastor of John the Baptist evangelical church, Antony Bokun, Christian Telegraph reports according to the Christian Megaportal invictory.com.

During the presentation a historical review of all published translations to Belarusian was also made, and most of these editions were shown in original.

The participants were able to go back to the past thanks to a theatrical production, which showed the main stages of the 500 years of Belarusian translation of the Scriptures from Francis Skaryna to Lukas Dekut-Maley, Vasily Semuha and the priest Vladislav Cherniavsky.

Some weeks ago in Belarus the Doctor of Theology Irina Dubenetsky announced a new initiative to translate the Bible into Belarusian language, because Belarus is the only country in Europe that does not have the original translation of the Scriptures into the nation's language.
